While I'm complaining,
10 June 2010 09:45 amI would like to point out that it's now 21 1/2 hours since they first put me under, and large portions of my face* are still numb. We've now progressed to numb and tingly, which is an improvement**, and I can at least register pressure. But this whole business could get old really fast. Is already old. Have I mentioned that I'm a really terrible invalid?
-------------
*My left ear, a swath of my left cheek, half of my lower lip, most of my tongue^. NOT, mind you, any of the portions of my mouth that have holes in them where wisdom teeth used to be. I can feel those just fine, around the edges of the painkillers^^.
^No, really, I didn't need an object lesson in the whole different-parts-of-your-mouth-taste-different-things. I ALREADY believed them. Apparently all of the things that make bananas remotely interesting are in the front left of your tongue. Also all of the things that make applesauce worth tasting. Unless it was just really bad applesauce, which is entirely possible, since it was hospital food.
^^Also, I was under the impression that things like vicodin and percoset were supposed to be interesting. They just feel like really strong painkillers to me.
**Mostly. It's even harder to eat when your tongue is numb and tingly than when it's just numb.

Date: 11 Jun 2010 03:40 am (UTC)At a party, I asked a friend if he had a sexual orientation or not---- in front of someone else's mother. NOT a mother I knew. Not that it was an odd or particularly inappropriate question in my circle of friends, as one of my high school friends doesn't. But Guillermo's mother was not the right audience.
I put together a mix CD. It.... was bad, the transitions were non-existent....
