Bother, that got shorter than I wanted it to. I should have just followed my rule of thumb: Never Let Them Layer It EVER. At least hair grows. And I can stuff it behind a headband until it is once again long enough to stop floufing in odd ways.
On the plus side, it's now in the right length-range to cosplay Keladry of Mindelan (why no, I didn't time this haircut with that in mind, what would make you think that?).
Also on the plus side, I managed not to laugh in the face of the nice hair stylist when she gave me the buy-twelve-get-one-free haircut card. Maybe she didn't figure out that "It's been two years since my last haircut" actually meant, "I usually wait longer than that but the bits at the front have gotten too short and are annoying now," rather than "waiting this long to get my hair cut was a feat of endurance."
