So I'm back in Philadelphia. I've touched base with various family members and agreed to babysit Thursday night (to the great pleasure of the parents, the studious indifference of the seven-year-old (he was deeply engrossed in A Cartoon Guide to Physics at the time), and the vocal disagreement of the three-year-old. I think we'll get on just fine. I could find a book about bees to go along with the bit of comb, and then I wouldn't see Danny all evening.

I'm at my father's house. I've decided that there are a number of things that need to happen here if I'm going to live here part-time all summer . . .
-find flat sheets and wash them (does this require a sheet shopping trip? Figure out.) (sleeping between fitted sheets is not optimal)
-the third floor bathroom sink needs to drain. Four people are too many for one bathroom. Dad says that they do have the necessary part, it just needs to be installed. I may be able to persuade him to do this before next week.
-I need to go through my dresser and jettison all clothing that no longer fits or that I otherwise won't wear. This clothing should be washed and donated.
-My room needs to be cleaned, and piles of random junk should be gotten rid of. Items that don't belong to me should be put away/dumped in other parts of the house.
(Is the rocking chair in my room because it is broken or because there's no room for it downstairs? Figure this out.)
-Find some way to store blankets, etc.
-Wash all bedding that smells of cat.
-Store winter bedding.

Mom's house:
-Put laundry stuff and drying racks back in bathroom (if necessary)
-Make bed. This may involve finding a sheet (no washing necessary)
-Unpack.
-Do three loads of laundry. Egads.

In short, I think that the next week or two is going to involve doing a LOT of laundry. I should probably get ready to go to my grandma's now.

I hope they are grateful but I doubt that they will be. Have you read _Cold Comfort Farm?_
