Guess what?
8 November 2006 03:03 pmI just discovered that the window of our room leaks. Luckily it's on my roommate's side, but unluckily, it's right next to her bed, so that if it gets much worse, she'll have a wet pillow and wet sheets, and I don't think that will be conducive to friendly roommate relations.
I was sitting at my computer, typing, and noticed a steady click-click-click. It's raining, but I thought all the windows were closed, so I investigated - and discovered that the water was dripping through the frame and onto the windowsill. So I moved her phone (which was getting sort-of wet), and stuck a plastic cup under the drip. I also called PhysPlant, and they said that they'll put in a work order. Of course, by then it probably won't be raining anymore, and it's going to be difficult to explain.
"No, it's not the caulking. You see that groove under the caulking? It's coming in there."
It looks completely implausible, and that will be interesting to get across. Even if they do understand what's wrong, chances are that we'll have to wait until it rains again at the right angle until we'll be sure they've fixed it.
The plastic cup is already 1/4 full. No, that is not optimism.
I'm going to put in my laundry, return my library book, and go into town to get some more shampoo and such.
