Really, it isn't "live." It's more like a spate of posts every couple of months - or every several months - or perhaps once a year - except that I'm posting now, which is less than a year since my last post.

So I'm here at college. But I don't think I'll talk about that much, because I could either write nothing or an entire novel on the subject - indeed, I've written numerous gigantic e-mails to my friends back home - and I don't feel like condensing a month and a half into two large paragraphs - tops - which is what I feel like typing right now.

Looking over my previous posts made me think of the last two weeks before I left for college. They were a lot of fun, even with the whole watching paint dry aspect. My dad and brother are coming this weekend, though, which makes me happy. My family do not tend to be big e-mailers - my brother has written me two e-mails in the entire time I've been here, and my dad talks about whatever he's writing the e-mail for, which while useful for straightforward conversation, is a bit short on general info. My mom writes more e-mails than most people I know, almost all of them short and to the point - that being something about my aunt-by-marriage's newborn nephew, or a website that gives me an idea of what the Philadelphia mayoral candidates look like - and very rarely anything about herself. In short, I know more about what's going on with my best friend (who's still in Philly), with my ex-neighbor down the street, and with the children's librarian at my ex-local library than I do about my family. So I'll be glad to see them, even if I doubt they'll get here by 9:00 Friday night, which is my dad's estimate. They're going by NYC at rush hour, for goodness' sake!
