I did in fact use britaed tap water, because the kit arrived yesterday morning and while I asked mom to get a gallon of milk, I forgot to ask her to get nonchlorinated water, so I was all ready to start and then went, "Oh, right, I needed water for this, too." And it worked (probably more on that later), so I figure it was filtered well enough.
