This site, for example. Somewhere in the middle, it had:

You agree to NOT use the Service to:
. . . 10. Intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law . . .

Really! If I were unintentionally violating a law, I wouldn't know, would I? I know that they always say that ignorance of the law is no excuse, but it seems to me that it's a bit much to demand that people not break laws that they don't know about.

I suppose that their lawyer told them to put that in there . . .

I think terms of service are intentionally idiotic, personally. *shrug*

*nod* It's incredible, the number of different ways that they can say the same thing over and over again. A bit like some of the Hebrew poetry in the Bible, but I know people who appreciate that, and I never met anyone who appreciated terms of service.
Maybe a few lawyers would enjoy the intricacy of the legal language.
