Mom is heading out today. Things have been considerably easier now that she's no longer sharing my room with me and we aren't together almost all the time. We went to the Eric Carle Museum. )

Yesterday we also went to church, hung out in Northampton, went to India House (yum!), and then hung out in my room. Lillie came by, and we both read The Speed of Dark while mom worked on the Pi Sudoku some more. That was fun. I'm quite enjoying The Speed of Dark. It's a good book, and it has fencing in it. SCA-type fencing rather than sport fencing, but the manner in which it is described makes it feel very similar to what I do (if I ignore the fact that they're using two weapons, anyway).

*sigh*

So I finally got around to going back to the Sherwood Smith novel that I was reading (rereading, actually) online in January before Lucinda died - and it's not up anymore. It's going to be published this summer, and I've been paying enough attention to know that this was happening and to be aware that she might have taken it down, but it would have been nice to be able to finish it.
Ah well. I do know what happens, and I have waited two months already. And it's not like after this week I'll have time for reading until this summer anyway. Still . . .

Today has been very domestic. After my mother left, I made soup, which took up a large portion of the afternoon, and then I cleaned my room (except for the desk) and did laundry, by which I mean my sheets and my towel and things, and vacuumed my floor/rug. Maybe I should work on the sock I'm knitting or do some sewing to finish things off. Or I could finish cleaning my desk so that my room is actually clean rather than almost clean. Or I could just go to bed.
