Today has been a good day
12 December 2007 05:28 pmI had my last Costume I class. We did watercolor. Both the prof and the girl sitting next to me liked my paintings, and more importantly, I liked them. It was slightly sad, but I still have the final project to complete.
I had my last Infinite Dimensional Linear Algebra class, and we turned in our group final. In the course of making the class final, I realized that we had a typo on one of our vectors in the group paper, and that the last problem in Part 2 wasn't injective after all, but quite frankly I didn't care. Of the people who did poorly on that test, I was definitely not one of them (which I've known for a while). I did feel that it was in poor taste for ---- to jubilantly declare that that test was so much easier than the midterm, and who didn't ace it?!, but that's ---- for you, and since it didn't result in meltdowns from the people who didn't ace it, I think that was okay. After we breezed through the group final, about half of the class reconvened in prof Cohen's office, ostensibly to discuss a proof. We did see the proof, but the resulting conversation went from all sorts of things from "what is a conservative/liberal?" (we have a Latvian student in the class, and she didn't know) to relative timestreams and Margaret Peterson Haddix's Turnabout. It was an interesting an enlightening conversation (and not just because I got to see ---- try to compete with David Cohen, which is one argument that she can't win, and I really enjoyed seeing her try, because her debating style is flawed but she's so enthusiastic (one might say agressive) in it that most people don't manage to call her on it - and I should point out that I didn't really mind ---- today, unlike some other days when she really grates on my nerves.).
After our discussion, I came back to my room and checked my e-mail and then finished my Spanish paper. It's not done, done; I haven't done the bibliography yet, and it still needs to be corrected after Sonia gets done with it, but Ibtissam liked the half-finished draft I turned in last week, and I think that it's a good paper on its own merit.
Now dinner, then ConBust meeting, and if I still have energy, then I'm going to fencing for the first time in a week.
And did I mention that when I woke up this morning, I felt Much Better? I still have a sore throat, but I feel like I'm recovering.
