Hello internet, are you there?

So this seems a good year to do NaNoWriMo, what with the currently unemployed, particularly since NaNo is a good way to get myself writing when I'm not writing enough, which I'm not. Only thing is, I've been fairly busy recently, and it's four days until November and I don't know what I want tow write for NaNo. vorindi suggests that I work on the Ridiculous project we've been neglecting, but that doesn't feel sufficiently flexible or frivolous to suit my current mood. I have a couple of half-started scribbles, but for various reasons don't feel like working on any of them.

So I'm asking you, if you're still there: what should I write this November? I'll take suggestions of plot, genre, conflict, setting, character(s), general idea, situations, that weird dream you had about the rescue nuns, striking images (I've never worked from images, but I'm told that people do), whatever you've got. I think I'm feeling more silly than serious, though I'll take serious suggestions, too, and I won't write anything I have to research too heavily, because research and nano-style are kind of antithetical.

Even if you don't have ideas, you could just wander in and say hi, so that I know that there are people still reading here, and that I'm not just tossing words into the wind when I post here.

My go-to suggestion is always vampire fighter pilots in space. :P I also had a weird dream lately about Agent Coulson doing paperwork in our kitchen, although I don't know how much help that would be in terms of inspiration. Flatshare sitcom sort of setting where the Vague Yet Menacing Government Agency is pushed out of their offices due to budget cuts, juxtaposing the weird and the mundane?

Also, hi! I don't post on LJ much lately (or ever, really), but I do read my friends page semi-regularly, so if you post something I will eventually see it.

That sounds . . . kind of fascinating, actually. But the Ridiculous already involves a secretive government agency dealing with supernatural stuff, and one of the scribbles I'm not writing for NaNo is the Magical FDA scribble, so taking on yet another supernatural government agency story is probably a poor idea.

chocochan suggested that I write a superhero story; I may be doing that.

And as far as reading lj, that's pretty much where I am, these days.

The other night I dreamed that I was at the JMM and on part of a team that was going to go to the bottom of the ocean (40,000 leagues under the sea, to be precise), in another dimension. I really hate water, so I was nervous. Also I thought there was good reason to think we'd just die when we got there. Someone else showed up and wanted to be part of the team and so I gratefully bowed out. Everyone thought it would be a good idea for me to monitor the radio communications. No one could tell me why they thought there would *be* radio communications between dimensions. Or, for that matter, what the plan was for getting back. So I was pretty sure I wouldn't see any of them again. Moreover, the radio communications weren't working so well in the conference center either---it didn't help that the receivers were translucent plastic cups. I could barely hear anyone in them.

I did. I don't quite see how one would turn it into a story, but it definitely fits the qualifications.
