In a short update,
While my room no longer smells appreciably of perfume, the broom that we used to sweep my floor does. And it may make any floor swept with it smell of perfume as well.

This is true. However, I have no idea of how to go about obtaining a patent, particularly at US patent while in Spain.
Is the fact that you're posting with the Laurea icon significant?
