It's funny. While 'Lord' in human terms is definitely male, in reference to God I never thought about it as a gendered word. And even though I can see why it might be considered un-PC if you wanted to muck up the words to all your hymns, for the life of me, I still can't think about it as a gendered word when I'm talking about God. And I find myself wondering if the Hebrew 'Adonai' is gendered. Is Hebrew even one of those gender-distinction languages?
